AUDITIONS happen: Thursday, September 12th 4:15 – 5:30 p.m. The Sawmill Playhouse 33 Crichton Ave., Dartmouth Sunday, September 15th 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Grace United Church 70 King St., Dartmouth Auditions MUST be booked by emailing projectarctheatretour@gmail.com For the audition, you will be asked to: – deliver a memorized excerpt from the show. (Sides will be sent to you upon booking an audition.) – learn some simple stomp choreography (taught during the audition) – sing one a cappella verse and one chorus from a musical theatre song (prepared by you in advance) – tell us why you would like to be a part of project ARC. With over 200 performances at elementary and junior high schools across Nova Scotia, project ARC has increased human rights awareness while raising close to $32,000 for organizations like Doctors Without Borders, First Nations Child and Family Caring Society, Hope for Wildlife, Phoenix Youth, and Right To Play. project ARC  performs at schools every second Thursday morning from mid-November – early June. Rehearsals are on Sunday evenings and every 2nd  Thursday morning and will start in late September. Performances are scheduled to begin in mid-November, at which time Thursday morning rehearsals end. Sunday evening rehearsals continue throughout the year. Cast members are usually responsible for their own transportation to and from shows, with the exception of possible road trips. Participation in project ARC is a great way to build skills and get volunteer experience. Experience with this show has helped cast members fulfill the requirements of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, receive awards (including the Nova Scotia Human Rights Award), gain acceptance into university programs, apply for scholarships and build their resumes. Students have used their work with project ARC as a high school co-op credit. Though our core cast will be built from our September auditions, if you are between the ages of 12-18 and identify as male, LGBTQ, a visible minority, or person with disability, we’d love to have you audition at any time until December, 2019 for an understudy role! In project ARC, understudies perform parts of the show throughout the touring season and are guaranteed at least one show in the role they are understudying!
