Opportunity Description:

Volunteers at the Mayflower Curling Club are critical to its success.  In addition to providing a much-needed service to the club, volunteering provides a fun and rewarding way for members to meet each other and to give back to the club and the community.   There are many and varied opportunities to volunteer at the club.  Recruiting and overseeing volunteers is a shared responsibility across many roles at the club.  The Volunteer Coordinator will be a central source of information on volunteer opportunities at Mayflower Curling Club and will work with league representatives, event organizers, as well as the staff and Board of the club to coordinate and record details of members’ volunteer commitments.  The role of the Volunteer Coordinator will include:    Assisting the board to promote the recruitment of volunteers to assist with club operations and events (e.g. volunteer bulletin board, social media posts, newsletter information)   Maintaining a list of current volunteer opportunities   Maintaining an updated list of volunteers, contact information, and areas of interest or special skills (e.g. carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, web design, coaching, event organization, ice technician)   Working with the webmaster to establish volunteer hour tracking functionality on the MCC website   Supporting volunteers in recording their volunteer hours, whether directly through the MCC website or by collecting information and entering it into the website   If this opportunity to be more involved in the MCC community interests you, please express your interest
