Opportunity Description:

The Loaded Ladle is a student-run organization located on Dalhousie University. We are a kitchen that provides local, sustainable, locally-sourced free food on campus to students and community members! We also offer events and activities which critically examine barriers to food sovereignty, food security, and food justice. Our Food Servings Program in the SUB kitchen runs between September and April, serving 200+ meals a day, four days a week! You can sign up for a block in the morning (9:30AM-12:00PM) or in the afternoon (12:00PM-2:00PM) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. You can also sign up for our prep parties on Mondays and Wednesdays in late afternoon. Volunteers typically help prepare and cook food by chopping veggies, making cake batter, or preparing salads. Around lunchtime, you might be in charge of handing out food to people over the counter. At the end of the day, we clean our kitchen thoroughly! Other than that, you can expect to help us conceive new recipes, get experimental, meet other volunteers and eating good food!  A Apply through loadedladle.com/volunteer
