Apathy is Boring (Become a RISE Ambassador – Community awaits!)

Have you always wanted to create change in your community? Do you want to connect with young people in your city? Are you interested in gender inclusion?  We got you! If you’re a youth aged 18-30, apply to join Apathy is Boring’s RISE program starting in the fall 2020. Apathy is Boring is a national, youth-led organization that supports youth to become change-makers in their everyday lives and communities.   Our RISE program is designed for young people with little or no previous experience in volunteering. Yet! Over the course of 22 weeks as a RISE Ambassador, you will develop skills, learn about community engagement, and work with your peers to build something meaningful together. RISE is currently offered in the cities of Halifax, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Montreal, Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto. For us, gender inclusion is about understanding and working to remove the barriers faced by folks with marginalized gender identities (i.e. two-spirit, trans, non-binary, women, etc). Working towards gender inclusion involves the engagement of all genders and allies. In RISE, you don’t need to be an expert. You just have to be open to learning. All are welcome to apply!  The RISE program will run for 22 weeks from August 3, 2020 to December 14, 2020. The mandatory (and fun!) 4 day retreat is from August 30, 2020 to September 2, 2020, all expenses paid.  Youth ambassadors have to commit 6 hours a week, which includes a weekly 3 hour meeting one evening per week in your city.
