The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is seeking an Office Assistant Volunteer for the Home Support Program. This position provides administrative support and will conduct program satisfaction surveys with clients and caregivers over the telephone.   Key Responsibilities Conduct telephone satisfaction surveys with Home Support Program clients and caregivers. Complete chart audits and maintains client confidentiality. Creates and maintains the filing system for the Home Support Program. Provides administrative support to the Home Support Program as needed. Works directly with the Home Support Supervisor if any concerns are brought forward by clients or caregivers. Adheres to privacy and safeguarding procedures to ensure participant’s health information is protected. Follows Red Cross policies and procedures related to health, safety and quality to ensure employee, volunteer and client safety. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including telephone etiquette. Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to deal with staff and clients. Demonstrated ability to listen and empathize with clients concerning personal and/or health-related issues. Well-developed organizational skills with a clear understanding of privacy and confidentiality. Strong computer skills including Word, Outlook and Excel. Attention to details in all areas of work. Satisfactory criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks are required. Experience with seniors, cognitively impaired and physically disabled clients would be considered an asset. Ability to communicate in French an asset   Working Conditions The hours of work for this position may vary. Commitment of 8 hours per month preferred.
