Opportunity Description:

Dartmouth North is an under-served and high-needs area with a dearth of community gathering spaces and lack of access to fresh and healthy food. DNCFC is a response to this need; we offer free nutritious community meals, as well as cooking and gardening programs and a weekly affordable produce market for the community members.   In order to ensure the sustainability and growth of our programs, we are launching a Grow-a-Row program, and reaching out to gardeners across HRM who may be interested in participating. Grow-a-Row is an initiative in which gardeners commit to planting and donating a row or portion of their produce to DNCFC, to be used in meal and cooking programs. As peak planting season has passed, this year we are primarily seeking harvest donations. However, we are planning to launch the full program in the upcoming year where gardeners could register online to commit to growing a designated row in their garden for DNCFC. If you are interested in getting involved, we’d love to hear from you! Contact Rachael Gardiner: rachaelgardiner1@gmail.com Rob Macneish: rmacneish@dartmouthfamilycentre.ca
