Opportunity Description:

ElderDog operates in chapters or Pawds in communities across the country. The Dartmouth East Pawd is well established and very active. We have an opportunity for someone to assume the leadership/coordinator of this very well organized and important community-based service organization. As Pawd Leader you would work with a wonderful group of committed ElderDog volunteers and with other ElderDog Pawd Leaders. Your role would include: contacting and welcoming new members/volunteers; outreach and liaison with rescue groups, senior serving organizations; calling and chairing Pawd meetings; participating in conference calls with National Office; working with Program Co-ordinators to facilitate ElderDog “business”; coordinating Pawd roles and keeping records of Pawd activities; negotiating relationships with community organizations (vets, groomers, local businesses); communicating with Pawd members and National Office on an ongoing basis; representing ElderDog at information and fund raising events; serving as back-up for other roles as needed; serving as an ambassador for ElderDog Canada and the Dartmouth East Pawd. Estimated number of hours: 20/month
