Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity where you can gain essential business administration skills while working for an organization dedicated to business ethics and community trust? This volunteer position is for you! BBB Atlantic is looking for a motivated, hard-working and detail-oriented individual to assist us with some really important data entry and data quality work. BBB Serving the Atlantic Provinces (BBB) is a not-for-profit organization that exists to promote marketplace trust. We do this by delivering several important programs serving businesses and consumers alike. We operate from a single office in Halifax, and serve all Atlantic Provinces. This position is ideal for anyone studying office administration, business administration, or who wants experience working with a community-oriented not-for-profit organization. Creating and maintaining Business Profiles on as many companies as possible, and keeping that business information up-to-date is crucial to our mission, which makes this a vital role in our organization. The position includes working in our database to research, enter and update business information. You may also call or email businesses for updated information. We need a volunteer with great attention to detail, a professional demeanor over the phone and email, and ability to work individually and in a team setting. In return, you will gain experience working in the not-for-profit sector, and develop invaluable skills pertaining to CMS applications and enhance your customer service skills. You’ll have a well-recognized organization to add to your resume and LinkedIn profile. We’ll also be happy to provide a reference letter that you can use in future job competitions.
