The Bella Rose Arts Centre is seeking individuals to serve on our Board of Directors who are committed to assisting the Bella Rose Arts Centre in its mission to facilitate arts programming and education to the diverse community of Halifax Mainland North. Board members play an integral role in the operations of the Bella Rose Arts Centre and are expected to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, assist with leadership and general promotion of Bella Rose Arts Centre. Board members are also expected to participate in board meetings, held monthly, and to volunteer on ad-hoc committees as necessary. While a background in the arts is not necessary, a history of working within the arts/cultural sectors will be considered an asset. We are currently looking to fill the following positions: Treasurer – Individuals applying for the position of treasurer must be able to interpret, classify, analyze and report on financial data. A background in professional accounting will be considered an asset. The treasurer must commit to a term lasting 2 – 3 years. Youth Representative – Preferably an individual who identifies as a youth and is engaged and involved with the arts within the community of Halifax Mainland North. Applicants with little to no experience in not-for-profits will be considered. This role is meant to be an opportunity for learning about not-for-profits and boards while representing your demographic in the community. The youth representative must commit to a term lasting 1 – 3 years. General Members – Individuals who are passionate about the arts and have a history of involvement in the following areas are preferred: not-for-profits, theatre, arts, culture, education.
