Support Services Group is looking for its next Board Member! We are looking for an experienced individual, with financial background(i.e. accountant, financial advisor etc.) to join our Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will join a dynamic team and help inform the organization strategic direction. At SSG, we are committed to improving the lives of our members who live with a disability, and ensure they live their good life in the community, while maintaining personal choice and control. We serve a diverse population, and support over 200 members in the community, in HRM, South Shore and Annapolis Valley. SSG employs approximately 170 employees, support workers and administrative staff. SSG started in 1991, as a cooperative of families, who dreamt of a better life for their loved ones, and our members continue to be involved in the cooperative. Our Board of Directors meets every two months, review and set strategic guidance for the organization. Board members serve for a three year mandate. This is a volunteer position.
