Alice Housing is looking for volunteers to sell 50/50 tickets on March 3 and March 4 at the Scotiabank Centre. Duties involve walking about the venue, announcing that tickets are for sale, and making the sale. It is important we receive help selling tickets, as we rely on fundraising events to fund our programs. The proceeds from ticket sales go directly to women and children in need of housing and counselling as they begin a new life away from intimate partner violence. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, March 3 from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 4 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. You will gain up to 8 hours of volunteering time for resume experience, get a chance to develop personal selling skills, and be able to watch the basketball game while volunteering! Note: the minimum age for volunteers is 19 years old. This restriction is required by the Gaming Control Act of Nova Scotia.
