Volunteer Daffodil Retail Seller

Description: Do you have a little time to spare? Are you looking to give back in your community? Then consider volunteering your time selling daffodils for The Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Campaign! As a Daffodil Retail Seller, you will sell daffodils at a designated retail site from April 11-13, 2019 (April 18-20 retail site dependent) Volunteer Position: Daffodil Retail Site Volunteer   Detailed description: Engage the public to sell daffodils, collect revenue and fill out cash envelops at the end of your shift to reconcile sales. You can volunteer for as many shifts & days and at as many locations as you choose. You will be in contact with the Daffodil Site Captain who coordinates and oversees Daffodil Sales and you will have support, if needed.   Time Commitment: 2-3 hours during the campaign April 11-13, 2019. Events/Fundraising Committee Member

Organization: Parker Street Food & Furniture Bank & Skills Development Centre

Description: Parker Street Volunteer Opportunities Client Servers-   Volunteers take clients into the serving area and help clients select food items Food bank days are Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays between 8:30am and noon. Food Sorters- Volunteers help sort and organize incoming food (fresh, canned and dry). Office Assistant- Volunteers help to answer phones, do some filing, stuffing envelopes for mail-outs and other clerical duties as needed. Assistant Truck Driver- Assist truck driver with furniture deliveries and pickups. Customer Service Assistant- We have two thrift stores ‘Great Things in Store’. Stores are located in Dartmouth at 110 Woodlawn Road and 334 Herring Cove Road. Volunteers assist the head clerk; organize clothing and other items, tidy up the work area.

Arts and Crafts Volunteer

Description: The Canadian Cancer Society has a volunteer opportunity for an individual who would enjoy facilitating an arts and crafts group. Volunteers must have excellent communication skills and provide a supportive and caring environment. Experience with a wide range of arts and crafts is necessary. We have a large variety of craft supplies. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: preparing a craft plan for an evening group of 5-10 people. (numbers vary) Time Commitment: preferably Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm -7:30pm twice a month. All volunteers must have an up to date Background Check prior to volunteering. Receptionist/Front Desk Support

Description: We are looking for people to volunteer in our interpretive centre.  You will be the first point of contact with the public and need to greet people as they come into the facility.  Other duties will include light administrative work. We are looking for people who are available from 1:30-4:00 pm on weekdays. Ideally, looking for someone to commit to one or two days a week.
