Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission, Nova Scotia, (SHRM) is an expansion project of the Association of Gospel RESCUE Missions. There are 300 missions in North America, all of whom are assisting to establish the first of it’s kind in the Canadian Maritimes.

Because SHRM is a brand new work, they are looking for volunteers to come alongside this faith venture. They operate a daily drop-in at 5568 Cunard Street for those in need. This is a place where men and women can pop by for a warm meal, a cup of coffee, some free clothing or household items, or just a listening ear.

Every Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas they also provide a full holiday dinner for those who may not otherwise be able to celebrate, serving up to 300 hungry souls.

The Mission Statement:
To RESCUE people from poverty, addiction & sin by offering emergency help, such as food, clothing and shelter, life-changing recovery programs and the Gospel Message.

The Core Values:
1. Charity
2. Evangelism
3. Discipleship
4. Expansion

The best antidote I know for worry is work. The best cure for weariness is the challenge of helping someone who is even more tired.
