Edward Elgar was one of England’s finest composers, and Symphony Nova Scotia proudly presents a rare performance of some of his most beloved works. Hear the searing, meditative, and quietly anguished Cello Concerto, performed by the legendary Shauna Rolston, “one of the finest cellists Canada has produced” (Toronto Star). Then, for the first time in almost 20 years, our expanded orchestra performs the hugely popular and deeply expressive Enigma Variations – including the signature “Nimrod” variation, a work of solemn, reflective beauty. Thursday April 28, 2016, 7:30 pm, Rebecca Cohn Auditorium.
