Born in the UK, Nicholas Mathew studied piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, while completing his undergraduate program at Oxford. During his PhD (Musicology) at Cornell University, he studied period pianos with Malcolm Bilson. Dr. Mathew’s research focuses on the relationships between music and politics in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
