Opportunity Description:

Many HRM parents welcome a new baby (or babies!) at a difficult or stressful time. They may have health issues in the family or older children to care for, or they may be new to the area. Without a circle of friends and family close by, they may feel overwhelmed and alone, and they may face greater risks to family well-being. You can help! ESP volunteers provide emotional support, parenting information and hands-on help with infants, toddlers, and older children. Most importantly, each volunteer is a reliable, caring person who can ‘be there’ for a family at a wonderful, but difficult, time of their lives. Volunteer commitment is 3 hours a week in the family home. Orientation, training and support are provided.
